Exercises with weights develop muscle strength and endurance, but for a warrior, much more important is the speed of reaction and excellent speed of movement, which strongmen cannot boast of.

• Weight-bearing exercises are harmful to human health. For general health, weightlifting, like any other sport, cannot be dangerous, but the spine and all kinds of joints can be significantly damaged if improperly trained. Training for beginner weightlifters

Since there are two main movements in weightlifting: the snatch and the clean and jerk, a beginner is encouraged to start with the following exercises: horizontal barbell lifts, barbell squats and deadlifts.

In addition, do not forget about the general strengthening of the body; here pull-ups on the crossbar, parallel bars, and push-ups with additional weight will come to your aid. You can also include cardio training in your classes, which will help develop endurance to unimaginable limits, because you will still need it in the world of big sports.

Cycling, jumping rope, shuttle running, and swimming are perfect for cardio exercise. Everyone can choose the most optimal activities for themselves. It is worth noting that isolated exercises are the domain of a specialist, not a beginner.

After several months of training, you can move on to working on the snatch and clean and jerk, without using additional weight on the barbell. You can gradually increase the number of plates on the bar, but this must be done consistently and without haste. In just a few months you can already try to catch up with the weightlifting ranks of 2017 .

Weightlifting Standards

| Author

A few months ago, I wrote about the unofficial standards established in CrossFit. It was very interesting for me to study this information and compare it with my own indicators, so in the future I wanted to introduce you to the weightlifting standards for the combined total that are officially in force in our country.

In order to get acquainted with the standards for weightlifting, I decided to visit the website of the federation of the same name, in the hope that they would politely provide the information I needed so much. But there was a bummer. The thing is that on the website of the weightlifting federation there is no information about the standards. I was a little confused by this state of affairs, because I had no idea where else to look for the requirements I so needed for the categories of weightlifting. What helped me out was an online resource dedicated to weightlifting in the city of Moscow and the Moscow region, which posted the number and date of the order that establishes regulatory requirements for weightlifting sports.

Next, in order to check the relevance of the information provided in this order and whether it is valid at all and has not been cancelled, I had to find it in the “tech expert” and look at its status. When all the preliminary procedures have been completed (not without difficulties, of course), I can happily present the weightlifting standards in force today.

I simplified it a little so that it fit on my website, removed youth sports categories from the table and divided them separately for men and women. You can download the full version of the table below.

Chad Eisch's Squat Tips for Weightlifting

In fact, every newbie makes the same mistake. When exiting the exercise, they begin to move with an involuntary movement of the pelvis. This incorrect action can be explained very simply - an imbalance between the endurance of the back and leg muscles. Usually the back of beginners is much weaker and therefore slows down the necessary movement when leaving a sitting position.

Chad Eisch's Squat Tips for Weightlifting

The ideal option is when the athlete simultaneously extends the body and legs while lifting. I always tell my students that coming out of squats starts with the head, not the pelvis. To make your ascent easier, imagine the following situation: a giant grabs your head and pulls you up with all his might. When you lower yourself, imagine that there is an invisible stool behind you.

  • To master the correct movement when squatting, I often set up a chair and force beginner athletes to lower themselves onto it, lightly touching the surface with their gluteal muscles. The most important thing is not to rush to increase the weights on the bar, you don’t want to get seriously injured.

If you are already ready to master the loads of professional athletes, then try yourself in mastering the weightlifting rank table . And remember that the result of training also depends on proper nutrition, adherence to sleep patterns and regularity of exercise.
