Evminov's board: exercises for the spine, for intervertebral hernia

Back problems can be solved, there are many ways, however, they require experience, knowledge and practice. For example, to practice Pilates you will need a trainer who will help and set the technique for numerous exercises. Another thing is that this is a special simulator – Evminov’s Profilaktor. Thanks to the board, a person does not need to study the features and nuances of, albeit effective, but complex techniques. This is achieved through excellent knowledge of anatomy and engineering.

What is Evminov's board

Evminov Vyacheslav Vladimirovich is the creator of a unique method of treatment and prevention of diseases of the spinal column. This man invented a special simulator, thanks to which you can engage in rehabilitation not only in special treatment centers, but also at home. Also, Vyacheslav Vladimirovich is the president of the Kyiv Vertebral Health Center and the Yuka sports club. He is also the first president of the Ukrainian Rowing Federation and an honored coach of Ukraine in rowing. Evminov was prompted to develop the technique and simulator by a serious spinal injury and the prospect of an operation with a questionable outcome.

The Evminov prophylactic device is a special orthopedic simulator consisting of an inclined surface, which is equipped with movable handles that can be installed at several levels. The device has a rope fastening and an elastic surface, which provide the necessary shock absorption for the spinal column during exercise.

Operating principle

Evminov's board - the simulator was developed taking into account current knowledge about the structure and features of the development of the spine. The vertebrae are connected by connective tissue structures - intervertebral discs. These elements do not have their own arteries; their blood supply is carried out from vessels located nearby. When the spinal column is deformed, the nutrition of the intervertebral discs suffers, they gradually lose elasticity and collapse.

To restore blood supply to the affected area, it is necessary to expand the intervertebral space and restore the normal arrangement of the elements of the spine. This is best facilitated by physical activity associated with stretching ligaments and muscles. With regular exercise such physical education gradually restores damaged tissues and increases blood flow to the vessels. Exercises on the board help reduce the severity of muscle tension in the back, strengthen the muscular corset of the lower back, and expand the intervertebral space.

The benefits and harms of training on the Evminov simulator

Benefit:

  • The simulator allows you to train without axial load.
  • Exercises on the Evminov prophylactic trigger the recovery processes.
  • Helps treat most back diseases at any age.
  • Can be used both in medical institutions, in gyms, and at home.
  • Exercises on the Evminov simulator are aimed at stretching the spinal column, as well as working the deep muscles of the back.
  • Helps increase the amount of intercellular fluid.
  • Creates a powerful muscle frame.
  • Improves diffuse nutrition of the intervertebral disc.
  • Promotes the rapid release of pinched nerve endings.

Among the disadvantages, the existing contraindications should be highlighted.

Kinds

Tables for stretching the spine come in various types, for example:

  1. Classic traction table for certain parts of the spinal column. Typically these are single-section designs.
  2. Multifunctional massage and traction. Here you can immediately develop all parts of the spine, from the cervical to the limbs. Two-section, can raise the head.

The design may include:

  • heating;
  • vibration;
  • soft pillows.

There is also a division of tables, depending on how the patient is positioned:

  • horizontal;
  • vertical;
  • with a slope.

If desired, you can perform traction even under water in hydromassage baths.

Contraindications

The simulator cannot be used when:

  • Paralysis.
  • Deep paresis.
  • Cerebral palsy.
  • Strokes.
  • Encephalitis.
  • Infectious diseases (including tuberculosis).
  • Chronic calculous cholecystitis.
  • Coral stones in the kidneys.
  • During the postoperative period.
  • Aneurysm of the aorta, heart, lungs, accompanied by pulmonary failure.
  • Glaucoma.
  • Recent spinal fractures.
  • Closed or open craniocerebral injuries.
  • Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases.

Summarizing

In conclusion, it is necessary to recall that all exercises on an inversion table are prescribed only by a doctor. He also monitors the correctness of their implementation and, if necessary, corrects the patient’s actions. Only after the patient has mastered all the prescribed exercises is he allowed to practice independently.

We should also not forget that only complex treatment brings positive results. The course of treatment for intervertebral hernia includes not only exercises on the table, but also adherence to a daily routine, proper nutrition, frequent walks in the fresh air, and giving up bad habits. This is the only way to be cured without the risk of relapse.

For what back diseases is it used?

The simulator is used for the following ailments:

  • Intervertebral hernia – protrusion of intervertebral discs. Occurs when the integrity of the shell is violated.
  • Curvatures of the spine, namely scoliosis, kyphosis and lordosis. May occur due to weakness of the back muscles.
  • Poor posture is not considered a disease, but is a harbinger of serious problems with the spine.
  • Intercostal neuralgia is an inflammation of the nerves accompanied by acute pain.
  • Osteochondrosis (cervical, thoracic, lumbar) – leads to the development of changes in the cartilage of the intervertebral discs.
  • Protrusion - in this pathological condition, intervertebral discs “fall out” into the canal of the spinal column without rupture of the capsules.
  • Radiculitis is a disease of the spine in which the nerve endings of the spinal cord become inflamed.
  • Scoliosis is a lateral curvature of the spine.
  • Slipped discs are a serious injury in which a subsequent vertebra moves to the side. Usually accompanied by acute pain and a risk of serious damage to the health of the spine.
  • Spinal injuries can occur at any age.
  • Pinched nerve endings are various compression of nerve endings by vertebrae.

Features of dry drawing

These manipulations are aimed at reducing compression of the discs and nerve endings by increasing the distance between each of the vertebrae. In the evening hours, after difficult work, a person’s height changes, it decreases by a couple of centimeters, due to the fact that the vertebrae become misaligned, even if the lifestyle is quite active. Hence the discomfort and pain. The procedure performed on a table for spinal traction promotes:

  • activation and improvement of blood circulation, lymph outflow;
  • reducing unpleasant pain and eliminating swelling;
  • stimulating the regenerative function of tissues that have been damaged.

After the first session, a positive effect will be noticed. If you suffer from osteochondrosis, early stage spondyloarthritis, chronic pain in the back or neck due to a pinched nerve, then you should take advantage of the latest achievements of modern orthopedics and solve serious problems without surgical intervention. Since its inception, the dry stretching method has undergone changes and has been improved as much as possible.

At the same time, even today we need to remember that there are contraindications to the use of this technique. You should avoid using an inversion table if you:

  • hypertension;
  • glaucoma;
  • tendency to arrhythmia;
  • cerebral aneurysm;
  • hernia;
  • connective tissue diseases;
  • cerebrosclerosis;
  • skin diseases;
  • infections;
  • limb prostheses.

Back stretching necessarily requires consultation with a specialist and his presence during the procedure.

A set of exercises on the Evminov board

Rotation of feet

The handles should be fixed at the desired height for the user, and the board should be set at an angle of 45 degrees. Holding the body on outstretched arms, holding the handles, the person begins to turn his feet from left to right.

Afterwards, the feet move up and down, pulling the toes toward and away from you. Then the cervical spine is involved in the movement. Movement of the neck is added, pulling it forward.

Knee flexion

The person, without changing position, begins to pull the foot towards the buttock, moving the foot along the plane of the board, without lifting it from the surface. The exercise is first performed with alternating legs, and ends with bending the legs at the same time.

Knee abduction to the side

To do this, in the same position, bend your leg at the knee and, without lifting your foot from the board, move your knee to the side, and then return to the starting position, straightening your leg. Again, the exercise is first performed with alternating legs and then with simultaneous abduction of the legs.

Leg abduction

You don't need to change position to do this. The movement is performed with a straight leg to the side. First, with alternating abduction of the legs, and then the movement is performed with both legs simultaneously.

Front leg swings

They are performed similarly to the previous movements.

Bringing the knees of both legs to the sides

In this exercise, the person must bend their knees and place their feet on the board. Then move both knees to one side, and then to the other, and then return your legs to their original position, lowering them down. Then the movement is repeated.

Pelvic lift

To perform this movement, you need to place your feet as close to your pelvis as possible and, pushing off with your feet, raise your pelvis as high as possible, bending your spine, then return to the starting position and repeat the movement.

Raising your knees to your chest

The movement is performed by contracting the abdominal muscles. During movement, you should pull your legs and head towards your chest.

Cross leg extensions to the sides

This exercise is performed on weight, lifting your feet off the board.

Exercise bike

Surely everyone understands and knows the exercise. Performed by weight.

These exercises are performed lying on your stomach.

Leg bends at the knees

Alternate and simultaneous bending of the knee joint is performed. When performing the movement, it is important to pull your toes and move your head up.

Leg extensions to the sides

Performed by weight.

Abductions of opposite limbs

At the same time, the leg and the opposite arm are abducted to the sides.

The next block of exercises is performed upside down. To do this, you need to fix your feet in the handles. You need to take a position face down.

Reverse crunches or hyperextensions

Having gathered your hands into a lock, you should lift your torso up. This exercise can be done as a complex at once: holding your hands behind your head, behind your back at the lower back and spreading them to the sides.

Stretching

In a face-down position lying on your stomach, you need to rest your hands on the bench and stretch up.

Pros and cons of the device

The main positive side of this simulator is that it allows you to do exercises with little effort. If the physical activity program is chosen correctly, it will be completely safe and will help stop the process of destruction of the vertebrae.

The disadvantages include the fact that some exercises can cause an excessive increase in the volume of the paravertebral space. Therefore, on this simulator they do not perform:

  • weighted squats;
  • bending the body to the sides with additional weights;
  • twisting by more than 20-30 degrees.

The basis of all exercises on the board is torso extension. However, some experts are skeptical about this type of physical activity. This is due to the fact that sometimes it is possible to increase pain after exercise.

The reason for this phenomenon is that all exercises are performed in a lying position at a slight angle relative to the floor. Therefore, when the patient stands up suddenly, muscle contraction occurs, which is the cause of pain. To prevent this, physical therapy is carried out in treatment centers along with physical education to help relieve spasm of the back muscles.

Recommendations for training at the Evminov dispensary

  • Alternate exercises with each other for maximum effect.
  • Choose an average pace for performing movements; when performing static exercises, the pace can be accelerated.
  • It is not recommended to conduct a workout lasting more than one hour.
  • The number of workouts per week should be in the range from 2 to 4.
  • The exercises should be performed in 4-4 sets of 6-8 repetitions each.
  • You can use weights, their weight should not exceed 16 kilograms.
  • Course duration: 2-3 months.

Inversion tables and stretching machines

Inversion therapy has been used for the prevention and treatment of back pain and for general health long before our era. Hippocrates, the “father” of modern medicine, mentioned in his teachings the healing effects of gravity on the human body when suspended upside down. A non-standard treatment method allows you to relieve pain and fatigue in the lumbar region, increase spinal mobility and improve blood circulation.

Inversion tables are universal exercise machines that help get rid of back muscle problems. The presented models are suitable for both prevention and treatment of the spinal cord. However, if you suffer from spinal diseases, be sure to consult your doctor before purchasing an inversion table.

How does an inversion table work?

Every second office worker dreams of buying an inversion table in St. Petersburg and Moscow. Why? The answer is simple: it eliminates the feeling of heaviness and back pain that accompany “sedentary” work. The operating principle of the simulator is simple:

  1. You lie down on the table, fix the position;
  2. Gradually the machine turns you upside down;
  3. You experience a load opposite to the force of gravity;

How is inversion beneficial for the body?

Buying an inversion table in Moscow and other cities means improving the health of the entire body. After all, these exercises have a healing effect on the spine, which tangentially has a beneficial effect on other organs, for example:

  1. Promotes increased blood circulation and active supply of oxygen to the brain, thereby stabilizing intracranial pressure, increasing performance and accelerating metabolic processes in the body;
  2. Decompresses the spine, relieves tension and spasmodic muscle pain;
  3. Helps restore the correct position of internal organs4
  4. Improves the functioning of the lymphatic drainage system;
  5. Allows you to maintain growth by stretching the spine;

Hang Ups Teeter has been developing professional inversion therapy equipment in collaboration with medical experts for over 25 years. HangUps inversion tables and stretching machines offer the highest quality and guaranteed reliability, housed in a stylish and ergonomic design.

Mechanical tables and electric exercise machines are equipped with an adjustable leg platform, which ensures reliable fixation in the “upside down” position. The comfortable soft back allows you to take the most comfortable position and achieve maximum relaxation of the muscles and spine.
